A song for a friend
Smiles I know you are spoken for
and the miles devide
But your blogs have always
brought a smile to my face.
This is the song that reminds me of you
I refuse to listen, to the lies I‘m told
That I got to grow up, as I grow old
Sorry that I missed that, but then I’m just a kid
And this raging child fire, I won’t be rid
Cause its ever so much better, and you’ll get the most joy
When in group of Q-Tips, you’re that wild and crazy boy
So you can shake that finger, or you join the fun
But either way old friend ...I won’t grow up
Its a waste to save me
So don’t you even try
No you’ll never break me
The young feathers on these wings ...let me fly
Splashing in mud puddles, laughing milk out my nose
Running around in mismatched clothes
Making crazy faces, daring them to stick
I’m skipping school cause I’m faking I’m sick
Screaming out loud and making some noise
Making odd creations from disassembled toys
So you can shake that finger
Or you can join the fun
But either way old friend
...I won’t grow up
Talking back too often, playing with my food
Getting into trouble involving superglue
Jumping and dancing, won’t quit asking why?
I’ve eaten so much candy that I’ve got a sugar high
Acting like the raptor, I’ve been known to climb trees
Finding the worst moment to play hide and seek
So you can shake that finger
Or you can join the fun
Either way old friend
...I won’t grow up
I Won't Grow Up
